Beloved of Christ Jesus, the Word of God in Ephesians 6:18 says; “Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.” The word prayer is a word that always caught the attention of all believers. When we are pressured, nipped or in a hopeless situation the first thing we need is prayer – whether it is ourselves who pray, or we ask others to pray for us. Prayer is born of our awareness of the limitation in our strength and ability as human beings and our need for God’s help and intervention. Nevertheless, many Christian are less aware of the importance of prayer. They often ignore times of prayer and find it difficult to spend time to pray consistently. But when come to do other task, they often have time. Prayer should be an important thing in our lives more than any other task, for all tasks that exist in this world are temporary, while prayer is a task that affects eternity. Life without prayer is like a house without pillars. Do you think a house can stand secure if there is no pillar supporting it? Quite impossible, right? Prayer is the breath of our lives and it is not only just a routine religious activity where memorized prayers are recited. But rather prayer should be a believer’s way of life.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us bless the life of our prayer in a higher stage. We would be at a loss if we leave prayer aside prayer and considered it unimportant. May the grace of God be with us all. Amen!
