Welcome to a time of Worship in the house of the Lord.
Beloved in Christ Jesus, God’s Word says in Ephesians 1:18; “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” We often misunderstood the term God’s calling. When we talk of this term, we often associate it with the ministry in the church, God’s servant, going to a Bible school or seminary, worship leader or singer, the team visiting the hospital, and so forth but the term actually mean more than that. Each one of us can fulfill God’s calling through our fields of employment or profession as long as the field is not contrary to God’s will. The Bible says, “For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.” (1 Thess. 4:7-8). What is the purpose of God’s calling for us? And what must we do to fulfill His calling? The Word of God in Luke 9:23 says, “Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.‘” When we deny ourselves and take up our cross, we must also be willing to pay the price for it. If we are allowed to experience tests or suffering, we must be thankful because it is part of the maturing process of faith. And eternal life can only be obtained through faith in Christ. Therefore, we must fight to keep our faith and salvation with a fear and trembling heart until the Lord comes the second time.
Therefore, the church of God, let us not fail half-way in our journey because of our disobedience in doing the calling and not keeping our faith. Lord Jesus loves you. Amen!
