Beloved of Christ Jesus, the Word of God in Romans 8:24a says; “For we were saved in this hope…” Everyone has desire and hope in life. No one wants to live a day without any hope to be accomplished. As parents we all have great hope for our children that they succeed in their studies. Likewise, a young person also has plenty of hopes in his/her life such as having a good job, owning a house and a car, and having a suitable life partner. This is a picture of hope that everyone has as long as they live in this world when in fact we know that life on this earth is temporary (not eternal).

For us believers, we do not place our hope on the things which are visible, because there is nothing that we can hope for and rely on in this world. The only one hope which can be our hope is the hope in Jesus Christ. He said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10b). So, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7). If we hope on Jesus, our hope will not be disappointed because Jesus is not slack concerning His promise. And when we trust in Him we have the power and the strength even in the midst of a tempestuous wind because our hope is a firm and secure anchor (Hebrews 6:19).

Therefore Beloved of Christ Jesus, do not let go of your hope in our Lord Jesus, because there are riches of the glory of His inheritance prepared for us (Ephesians 1:18). May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen!
