Welcome to a tme of Worship in the house of the Lord. Beloved in Christ Jesus, we often think that prayer is only about we asking from God and we must receive the answer immediately. Initially, we are very zealous in our prayer because we wanted something from God, and then our attitude began to change when we did not receive the answer. Gradually, our zealousness began to fade away and eventually we stop praying. Prayer is not merely we talking and expressing our desires to God, but also hearing what God wants out of our lives. Jesus reminds us to “…always pray and not give up.” (Luke 18:1) Here, ‘Always pray and not give up’ means that we must pray continuously without becoming weak and discouraged. If we know that God’s time is not our time, then we will pray and not lose heart in any situation until we see the manifestation of God’s work and His power. Praying continuously and not giving up is a sign of our complete dependence upon God as our only Helper.
Brothers and sisters whom Jesus loved, the elements in prayer are time, commitment, motivation and faith. We must honestly accept the fact that our timing is not God’s timing. Otherwise we will become impatient and eventually stop praying. Do not give up praying because, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Jesus loves you. Amen!
