Beloved of Christ Jesus, today is the sixth day we have entered the year 2019. When our age increases year after year, the day of our Lord Jesus Christ is getting closer too. In order to face the year 2019 we have other option but to face it with have a new spirit, a new determination and a new commitment that aims to make our lives much better than the previous year. There must be a positive change in ourselves. Changes should not be just physical changes but spiritual changes. If last year we were lazy to serve God, let’s make a commitment to serve Him diligently in this new year 2019. “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” (Romans 12:11 NIV), because “…in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58 RSV).
If last year we always think when we give God’s work, we must commit to giving the best this year – 2019. “Honor the Lord with your substance and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.” (Proverbs 3:910 RSV). Life has to change. If we used to do many mistakes, we should learn not to repeat the mistakes in 2019. If we used to see the shortcomings of others and like to judge them, let us in this new year 2019 learn to improve ourselves first. “Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.” (Galatians 6:4 NLT). It is impossible for us to change if we have no desire to change and not willing to sacrifice.
The Church that Jesus loves, our lives will change when we want to be taught, formed and led by the Holy Spirit. When we are led by Him we will be enabled to no longer live in the flesh. “And do not get drunk with wine, because wine produces desires, but you are full of the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18). Our lives will be much better if we want to be led by the Holy Spirit every day. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you all. Amin
